December 11, 1928: The Pesuta, a 264 foot log carrier, was under tow by the tug Imbrecaria in Hectate Strait when it was struck by a heavy southeast gale. Overburdened, her decks awash, the 2150 ton vessel fell apart in the shoals of the Queen Charlotte Islands. The bow of the Pesuta may be seen where it still lies just north of the mouth of Tlell River, on the east coast of Graham Island.
